About: Our 5 Day residential summer camps are a true escape to the wild, giving children the chance to immerse themselves in the wild.
Our 5 Day residential summer camps are a true escape to the wild, giving children the chance to immerse themselves in the wild and try a whole host of new bushcraft activities.
On our 5 Day Explorer camps for kids the adventure does not stop! Away from the distractions of everyday life, children become absorbed into the wonderful world of the wilderness. It delivers excitement and enjoyment on top of development and confidence building and children come away with memories that last a lifetime.
This is a great holiday camp if they have stayed away from home before, if they have camped out then great but it isn’t a requirement for this adventure! All activities are bushcraft based.
These summer camps serve as a gateway for budding explorers, introducing them to the basics of bushcraft and igniting their passion for the great outdoors. The kids sleep in safari-style bell tents situated around a central yurt. This is all tented accommodation and gives a real back to nature experience.
Highlights include: Archery, Wilderness First Aid, Scenario SOS, Fire-Lighting, Shelter-Building, Tribes Got Talent, Wilderness Cookery, Camp Craft, Fireside Stories, Marshmallows and Hot Chocolate

MY CHILDREN WANT TO COME TOGETHER BUT ARE DIFFERENT AGES. CAN THEY BE ON THE SAME CAMP?
Yes, if you would like your children to be in the same ‘Tribe’, please add their names to the ‘Tribe’ buddies’ section of the website. This can be found by signing in, clicking campers, edit next to the name of your camper and then adding their buddies names in the tribe buddies section.
DO YOU CATER FOR SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?
Yes, we cater for all dietary requirements and pride ourselves on providing delicious alternative meals for halal, kosher, lactose-free, wheat-free, coeliac, pescatarian, vegetarian and all other diets.
In addition we take the dietary requirements very seriously at Active Learning Centres on our Thrill Seeker, Mountain Adventure and Coastal Explorer camps. We have a robust system in place which accounts for all 14 listed allergens and even allergies which are not recognized by FSA legislation are catered for.
We can supply a carb counted menu on request for anyone with diabetes, and also have the facility to weigh and count the food on site.
All our catering staff and instructors are trained in allergy awareness and Natasha’s law.
Whilst we endeavor to replicate an allergy-free alternative for every meal sometimes this just isn’t possible but with careful planning and a simple chat with the catering staff we can make sure there is always plenty to eat for everyone with an allergy.
With such a good selection of dishes available fussy eaters can be catered for but due to cross contamination possibilities and storage issues we cannot allow food to be brought into the Centre except in severe medical circumstances.
