About: This is our multi-activity summer camp for campers who fancy something with a bit more adrenaline whilst being immersed in natural ancient woodland.
This is our multi-activity summer camp for campers who have been on our Explorer camps but fancy something with a bit more adenosine! They will have the chance to try out lots of different activities that get them off the ground and within the canopy.
Our Thrill Seeker course takes kids activity camps to the next level! Engulfed in the natural beauty of Cuffley woods, children become explorers of the trees. With a whole host of activities designed to challenge and excite our campers, this course is the perfect place for those who dare to take their adventurous spirit to new heights.
The campers discover the joy of pushing their boundaries and embrace the thrill of adventure on our Thrill Seeker summer holiday camp. The children stay in our new wooden eco-pods in groups of up to 4.
Highlights include: rock climbing, a high ropes course and multiple problem solving exercises to test the group and individuals
WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON MOBILE PHONES AND ELECTRONICS?
We have a ‘no tech’ rule on all our camps! Camp wilderness is an opportunity for children to get away from the busyness of their everyday lives and spend time away from their screens.
DOES MY CHILD NEED TO COME IN A GROUP OR CAN HE/SHE COME ON HIS/HER OWN?
Many of the children come to camp on their own and have a wonderful time. They always leave with lots of new friends and it’s a great time for them to build their confidence and develop new skills.
DO YOU CATER FOR SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?
We take the dietary requirements very seriously at Active Learning Centres we have a robust system in place which accounts for all 14 listed allergens and even allergies which are not recognized by FSA legislation are catered for.
We can supply a carb counted menu on request for anyone with diabetes, and also have the facility to weigh and count the food on site.
All our catering staff and instructors are trained in allergy awareness and Natasha’s law.
Whilst we endeavor to replicate an allergy-free alternative for every meal sometimes this just isn’t possible but with careful planning and a simple chat with the catering staff we can make sure there is always plenty to eat for everyone with an allergy.
With such a good selection of dishes available fussy eaters can be catered for but due to cross contamination possibilities and storage issues we cannot allow food to be brought into the Centre except in severe medical circumstances.

At the end of each camp at Camp Wilderness, campers are awarded a coveted badge as a symbol of their accomplishment and completion of the course. These badges are celebration of their achievement for completing the camp and recognises the skills they have now leaned and the experiences they have gained.
As a camper you can collect the badges by completing all of the courses. Wear these with pride when you return the following year for your next adventure!
