Health & Safety

Keeping your children safe and healthy is our primary concern at Camp Wilderness, and we are well-known for our outstanding levels of health and safety. We are committed to ensuring our staff, our camps and our activities exceed all guidelines and regulations.

Our staff all receive in-house training, first-aid training, have the relevant qualifications, and have passed the necessary Disclosure and Barring Checks. We also make sure our Camp Leaders, Tribe Leaders and Field Cooks all share our passion for teaching and inspiring young people in the outdoors. Camp Wilderness is run by The Bushcraft Company, a leading provider of outdoor education for schools across the country, therefore our team are experienced in running camps of this kind throughout the year.

Every camp location is fully risk assessed, and we are regulated and licensed by all the appropriate governing bodies. Every child is briefed on arrival at camp to ensure they understand the safety protocols they must follow, and a member of staff is on duty 24-7. Comprehensive first aid kits are available at every camp. All of the activities we run have been fully risk assessed and all activity equipment is regularly inspected, and used only for its intended purpose. Every activity programme is flexible to allow for a group’s age and ability, as well as the weather.

Our food is procured from reputable sources and stored safely at all times. All of our Field Cooks have a food hygiene certificate, and general food hygiene is controlled by our staff.
