FIVE DAYS YOU’LL TALK ABOUT

Out of your comfort zone.
Into the adventure.

A taste of life on a DofE Gold residential.

Gorge scrambling in Snowdonia — Push your limits.

A participant on the high ropes course — Try something new.

Climbing on a DofE residential — Leave with new friends.

DOES IT COUNT?

Built for your
Gold residential.

Your Gold residential needs to be a shared activity with people you don’t already know, in a residential setting away from home, over five days and four nights. Our courses are set up to do just that.

You’ll need to come on your own, not as part of an existing group of friends, a school or a youth group trip.

Check with your DofE Leader before you book so they’re happy with your plans.

A group of young people on an outdoor activity — Five days, four nights, one Gold residential.

Can I come on my own?

Yes, and you need to. Your Gold residential has to be with people you don’t already know, so everyone arrives on their own and gets to know each other during the week.

Who can come?

Young people aged 16–24 who are working towards their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

What’s included in the price?

Full-board meals cooked on site, accommodation in bunk rooms for 2–8 people (some en suite; Cuffley uses a pod village), all activity equipment and qualified, DBS-checked instructors.

How do I book?

Find your date in the tables above and press Book. You’ll need your DofE ID number (or your child’s, if you’re booking for them). If you need help, email us at dofe@activelearningcentres.co.uk.

What if not enough people book?

Courses need at least 5 people to run. If a course hasn’t reached that one month before it starts, we’ll offer you another centre, other dates or a full refund.

What about medical or dietary needs?

Email us at dofe@activelearningcentres.co.uk before you book so we can talk through your needs and the arrangements in place.

How do I get in touch?

Email our DofE team at dofe@activelearningcentres.co.uk.
