The Camp Wilderness experience is expanding! We are proud to announce that Camp Wilderness is not only reconnecting you with nature in the woodlands but now taking you to new heights in the mountains.
The Towers
Our mountain adventure takes place in The Towers, set in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, the children will get to stay in stylish dorm accommodation in our recently refurbished center with a lot of history! Having previously been owned by a country council the centre had unfortunately come into disrepair and then been closed but with decades of outdoor education history we couldn’t miss the opportunity to bring it back to life.
The natural landscape of the local area is the focus of your stay here with us! Embracing everything it has to offer from the flowing rivers to the rolling hills and even a disused mine, this will be the adventure that allows you to delve into incredible experiences and develop skills you didn’t know you had.

Mountain Adventure
Our new outdoor adventure is for ages 11-16 and is a packed 5 day trip full of a wide range of activities, each designed to expand and develop your current skill set. Here are just a few examples that our new experience can offer:
Gorge Scrambling
Set in the unique gorges in the surrounding area, the group will work together to ascend to their victory point. This activity is a mixture of relying on your team members but also using your own skills to assess and carve out a path. Each member of the group will learn the value of risk management, clear communication, support for others, an appreciation for a unique environment, and what can be achieved when our comfort zones are stretched. However, above all, the gorge is a fun, wet, and wonderful place to spend some time!

Mountain exploring
With our new location set in the high mountains of the UK it’s only right we take the time to explore and appreciate this landscape. From taking in the inspiring views the group will also experience the physical challenges along the way. With members of the group being tested and relied upon, they will partake in navigation, animal spotting and learning about mountaineering hazards.
Canoeing
It’s not just the heights of the mountain we will be taking advantage of in this location but also the calm soothing rivers. The group works as a team to learn the basics of their canoe, explore the surrounding rivers, and overcome challenges set by their instructor. There’s also a chance for some hot chocolate and marshmallows when we stop for lunch and learn about fire lighting! This full day of exploration will inspire; taking in the beauty of nature and how balance plays a huge role (not only on the canoe!) but also how we as humans must be mindful when interacting in nature of the delicate eco system that exists.
