May half-term is almost here and with it comes endless possibilities for outdoor family adventures and summer activities for kids. It’s the perfect time to get your kids outside and enjoy all that nature has to offer. Unfortunately, in today’s world where technology reigns supreme, it can be a challenge to get kids to put down their devices and actively participate in outdoor activities. But don’t worry; we’ve compiled some simple ideas to help you keep your kids active and engaged this summer.

Plan an Outdoor Family Adventure: Plan a day trip to a nearby forest, park or nature reserve. Not only will it allow your kids to soak up some sun and fresh air, but it’ll also give them the opportunity to learn more about nature. You may even bring a picnic with you and have a relaxing time with your family.

Water Fun: When temperatures soar, water activities are always a great idea. Whether it’s going for a swim in a nearby lake or outdoor pool, playing water balloon games, running through sprinklers in the backyard, or going to a nearby waterpark, kids are sure to have a blast.

Outdoor Games: Simple outdoor games like frisbee, catch, or football are great ways to get your kids outside and active. You can organize a game with their friends or even as a family for some healthy competition and bonding time.

Volunteer for Environmental Clean-Ups: Volunteering for environmental clean-ups is not only a great way to help your community, but it’s also an opportunity for your kids to learn about the environment and how to protect it.

Outdoor family adventures and other fun things to do outside are some of the best holiday activities for kids. These are also great ways to ensure your kids are having fun, engaged, and learning as we look ahead to the summer holidays.

Summer kids camps are a great way to keep your kids active and engaged during the summer holidays. It’s an opportunity for them to learn new skills or hobbies that they may not have had the chance to explore before. Camp Wilderness provides a fun and exciting environment for children to get back to basics in the wilderness surrounded by peers of similar age. We also have family camps, for the entire family to get back into the great outdoors and have a fun summer experience together.

Re-connect with nature and explore the natural world with your family this summer.
