The car is packed, the kids are excited and you are on your way to drop them off at Camp Wilderness! It’s time for not only the kids to get out and enjoy themselves but also you. We have put together what you can find in the surrounding areas to camp to make the most of the drive and have a little adventure yourself while the kids are away.  

Blenheim woods 

Dropping the kids off at our Blenheim Woods location, then we have you covered! There is the incredible Blenheim Palace right on the doorstep. From incredible grounds to palace state rooms and various tours and exhibits, this is a destination not to be missed, and what better way to enjoy while the kids are off exploring camp with us.  

Top Tip: If you visit make sure to look at the lake outside as it featured in Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix as The Black Lake!

Boughton Woods 

When stopping through Boughton make sure you stop and see just a few of the many things on offer. From stately homes to amusement parks. You can go on tours or visit Wicksteed park for a more thrilling adventure. Most activities are just a short drive from the camp base so you will be spoiled for choice for activities to keep you entertained.

Castle Howard 

This camp location is perfect if you are a fan of trains! Based just 30 minutes from the center of York you can explore the national railway museum or perhaps explore the shambles and relive those famous scenes from Harry Potter. With York on your doorstep there are so many activities to whisk you away and create a little adventure for yourself while the kids are exploring the forest.

Did you know: That the railway museum has over 6000 objects on display!

Penshurst Place 

Filled with National trust locations there is plenty here to feast your eyes upon! However, if nature isn’t your cup of tea there are plenty of wonderful dining spots and even a toy museum not far away. Make sure to explore a little next time you drop the kids of for their next adventure with us.
